Tuna starting 10/2/2010
The last few weeks has seen Albacore and Striped Tuna being caught in increasing numbers at Eaglehawk Neck through to St Helens and Flinders Island. There has been an increasing number of kingfish caught including in the south of the state (previously mainly found in Nth waters). Lots of Blue sharks are about and a couple of Marlin sightings of Eaglehawk Neck are hopefully pointing towards a bumper game fishing season. There has also been good catches of King Flathead ranging up to 850- 900 long all along the east coast.

Season Opens
after a slow winter the rock lobster season has opened and also catches of Flathead (sand and King),Perch & Striped trumpeter are improving. Large numbers of Australian Salmon are being captured. A mako of 100 kg was hooked south of Maria a week ago.

16/5/2009 - Bluefin Tuna
Bluefin continue to be caught at Eaglehawk Neck. Numerous species in excess of 100 KG have been caught in the last 3 weeks (including a 143 kg one) St Helens has numerous small Albacore available

Bluefin 100KG + 4/4/09
A Bluefin weighed in at 120 KG was captured today several others estimated over 100 Kg have been hooked and lost in the last week. Numbers of Smaller size Bluefin continue to be caught from Eaglehawk Neck down to Pedra

Bluefin 12/3/2009
Bluefin are about in good quantities at EHN fish ranging from 15-50 kg as well as a number of 20kg+ Albacore have been caught this week

Bluefin Tuna 5/3/09
A few Bluefin Tuna have started appearing in the waters off Eaglehawk Neck. The fish are in the 20-30 kg range. Albacore and striped Tuna are still available in good numbers

Makos and Albacore
Mako sharks and Albacore have been caught off Eaglehawk Neck in the last two weeks. It wont be long and the game fishing will be in full swing !!

SCBOOT Launches Website
SCBOOT has today 24/11/2008 launched our new website. The website was designed and created by students from the Launceston Campus of TAFE Tasmania who were undertaking a Diploma level qualification in the areas of Multimedia and Graphic Design in 2008. We appreciate their assistance.
